The Arthurian Smut Cycle is a queer retelling of Arthurian myth. It attempts to rejuvenate the homosociality & -sexuality latent in 14th century chivalric literature into a palpable work of heady queerness while pushing back against the centuries of erasing queer people from history by making some of the most infamous (if not actually historical) characters queer themselves. It aims to celebrate myriad expressions of romantic and sexual loves, placing them in a pseudo-history of the late Middle Ages that’s almost touchably real.
If you would like to dig deeper into ASC, check out the Historical Notes page, or consider becoming a patron on Patreon where you’ll have access to essays & monthly ebooks examining the plot, the art and the entire world of ASC.
ASC is written and illustrated by Soren Häxan (SOR-in HEX-a). Born in 1989, he’s a published author and illustrator, amateur medievalist, and full-time goth. This is his first comic (which is why the early pages are kind of shit.) You can reach him at @ArthurianSmut on Twitter.
Endless thanks goes out to Elby Teufel, Catren Parker and Jack Crosbie for their work as creative consultants/emotional support for all the author’s meltdowns.
